Our Pygmy goats are a much loved part of our family farm in Leicestershire. We work closely with our vets and test (and are negative to date) for Johnes, CLA, CAE & bTB. Our kids are all disbudded so they do not grow horns for their own safety and the safety of us humans too. (Some of our current breeding nannies do have horns at present)

We sell nannies, wethers and kids and occasionally billies - subject to availabilty. We sometimes have nannies with kids available for sale in the spring, and have wether (castrated male) and nanny kids available in the summer and autumn.

Kids are born in spring and early summer. Their mums give birth the them in the barns and they go out into the field with their mums and the rest of the herd soon after, if all is well. We take them to our vet to be disbudded so they never grow horns when they are a few days old. This is a quick, straightforward procedure and they are given sedation and pain relief to keep them comfortable during and after the procedure. We find they recover very quickly and being disbudded as babies makes them so much safer for us humans and for the herd. It reduces fighting within the herd, and means they won't get their heads stuck in their fences as they get older. They cannot hurt each other when play fighting and it makes them safer for us handling and feeding them, particularly when around children as children's faces tend to be at the height of pygmy goats' horns.
They stay with their mums for the first 3 months of their life, after which they are ready to leave their mums and start their new adventures!

Our Herd
We have pedigree Pygmy Goat Club (PGC) registered and non-pedigree Pygmies. They are a range of colours - whites, blacks, tri-colours, blues and browns. This gives us a lovely range of colours, size and physical build in our kids. We also handle the kids from a young age to build a relationship with them and build trust with humans.

We work closely with our vets to ensure we keep our herd as healthy as possible. This includes health testing (CLA, CAE, Johnes & bTB), regular vaccinations and worm checks, disbudding of kids and visits as necessary.
